Each state has their own state assistive technology program, or also referred to as the state AT program or AT Act program. 

Each state has their own council/board that focuses on the well being of individuals with developmental disabilities in their state, comprising of individuals with developmental disabilities, family members, service providers, advocacy organizations, and more. 

Each state has an agency/department responsible for services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).  

Each state has their own Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Organization responsible for protecting the legal rights of individuals with disabilities across their state. 

Each state's Department of Education (DOE) is responsible for overseeing the state's education as well as enforcing federal and state education laws. 

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) includes university centers on disabilities from each of the 50 states. 

Many states have non-degree programs at universities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
